Cultivating Soil

What kind of soil do you cultivate in your home?  We often hear homilies preached on the sower, the seed, and the type of soil on which the seed falls.  But how do you cultivate soil so that the seed falls on rich ground more often than not?  I propose that this soil is the relationships you build with those with whom you are witnessing a life in Christ, and for many of us that is within our families.  So a place where there is little relationship becomes shallow in faith and a place where there are thorns of discontent and lack of peace chokes out the faith that is growing, but the place where relationship is a priority, and has a place of intentionality, will foster rich and meaningful transmission of a life of Christ.  What can you do today to foster positive relationships with those you are closest to, whether that be children, parents, or siblings?
